Oh Sweet Irony.

Just this past year, I’ve really been feeling the tugs on my heartstrings to start getting serious about my passions and talents God has put in me. (Hint, hint… its all things creative, and/or home related. Oh yeah, and like people and stuff too.)

Back to why I started this post… My mom is so generous and offered to buy me a twin mattress, box spring, frame and headboard off Craigslist. $40 for everything. Ridiculous. I love Craigslist. I don’t have a before picture of the headboard, but picture something brown, ugly and freckled. Got that visual yet? Perfect. So naturally, I felt like going out on a limb and painting something NOT white. And I did. It was gray and I loved it. I got the inspiration from an Anthropologie bed that I only wished I owned.

I listed the newly painted headboard on Craigslist for $70 and I figured I would accept a lower offer if reasonable. Well, someone bit and was ready to come pick it up the next day. The lady who came was so nice and started telling me she wants to paint it for her mother who wants, get this, a WHITE headboard. Really? Is this a test?

I laughed and told my mom about it. The first piece I ever sold, was going to be repainted. No complaining though, I made money off of it and still kept the mattress, box spring and bed frame.

Wondering what colors you have on your wall in this room. I love the two tone gray stripes. Also the color/brand of the headboard. Thank you.

Yikes, Stacey! I don’t think I’ll be able to help on either of your requests. The darker stripe was the original wall color and was wayyy to dark for the entry, and the lighter stripe is the color of the living room which was leftover paint when we moved in. I don’t have either cans leftover. The headboard was a craigslist find that was originally an ugly freckled wood that I mixed up a custom color for myself. Sorry I was of zero help.
